Sashiko (meaning "little stabs") is a a form of decorative stitching originating from Ancient Japanese culture.  The simple running stitch was originally used to mend or reinforce worn fabrics.  In this introductory class, we will explore a variety of traditional pattern designs and transfer methods for you to begin to create your own sampler of sashiko patterns. Sashiko is also the perfect modern method of  embellish and mending to recycle and reuse your materials and garments!
